Fees a Lender May Charge
Fees are set by each lender within the limits of state law, and every fee must appear in your loan agreement before you sign.
Origination fee
A one-time processing fee, often deducted from the amount you receive. It's included in the APR.
Late fee
Charged if a payment arrives after the due date or grace period, where state law allows.
Returned payment fee
Charged if a scheduled payment is returned for insufficient funds. Your bank may charge its own fee too.
If You Miss a Payment
Missing a payment can lead to late or returned-payment fees as allowed by your agreement and state law, collection activity, and negative reports to credit bureaus that may lower your credit score. Renewal and extension policies vary by lender and are explained in your agreement.
- Contact your lender before the due date. Many can move a date or set up a payment plan.
- Ask what fees apply and how a change affects your total cost.
- Get any new arrangement in writing.
mobiloans doesn't service loans or take part in collections. Questions about payments go directly to your lender.
Credit Checks, Reporting and States
Credit checks
Lenders may check your credit with one or more consumer reporting agencies, using soft or hard inquiries.
Credit reporting
Many lenders report payment history, so on-time payments may help your credit and late ones may hurt it.
State availability
Loans aren't available in every state, and terms can vary by state law. Check your state.
